National service & the OMBAC connection
Brian Barnard began rugby at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2001 and went on to the collegiate All-Americans, overseas clubs and OMBAC. In his USA Rugby alumni interview, he dates his Eagles fifteens involvement primarily to 2006 and the build-up to the 2007 World Cup, with intermittent sevens player-pool involvement through 2011. Cal Athletics names him among OMBAC’s wing and fullback options in February 2007 and identifies him as a North America 4 Series MVP.
The official 2017 alumni feature pairs a portrait with a playing image. Its action photograph is not dated and does not identify the match.
