Five title sides
Dennis Gonzalez is on more OMBAC championship team sheets than all but two men on this page: 1989, 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1996, plus the 1995 side that finished runners-up, where he was among the try-scorers. Every roster that gives his position lists him at flanker.
Robb Field, 1991
The 1991 final was played at OMBAC’s own ground in front of two thousand people. The club beat Washington 12–9, and Gonzalez was named co-MVP of the National Championships alongside Washington’s Paul Sheehy.
Sevens for the United States
He played the 1993 Sicily Sevens at Catania, where the USA went four wins and two losses under coach and manager Mike Saunders, his OMBAC captain. Gonzalez scored in the 28–0 Etna Cup quarter-final against Sweden, and in the 38–12 final it was a ball won by Gonzalez that led to the try that settled it. He also played the 1995 Taipei Sevens alongside Ray Green, Dave Hodges and Dan Lyle.
