National service & the OMBAC connection
Kalei Konrad was selected for the USA Under-20s’ May 2012 Canada tour while at San Diego State. He later appeared on the USA Selects’ non-traveling reserve list for the 2017 Americas Pacific Challenge. His club career included OMBAC, the San Diego Breakers and Terenure College RFC before a return to OMBAC. Terenure’s August 2020 first-person interview confirms both his club history and his fly-half/inside-centre positions. Santa Monica’s contemporary report records a try and eight conversions for OMBAC in their April 2015 meeting.
First recorded national service: 2012 USA U20 touring selection. The 2017 Selects list explicitly identifies non-traveling reserves; no tournament appearance is inferred. The photograph is club action, not USA international action.
